Dhokla Recipe Today I am sharing the recipe of making Dhokla with you. I will tell you how to make soft and spongy Dhokla at home, it seems very tasty to eat this Dhokla. Let's see what we need to make it.

Ingredients For Khaman Dhokla Recipe

2.5 cup besan (Bengal gram flour)
2 tsp sugar
3 green chili 
1 tbsp salt 
1 tbsp turmeric
1 tbsp baking powder
A pinch of baking soda
3 cups water for mixture and sugar syrup
2 1/2 tsp oil for greasing and cooking
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
10 curry leaves (Kadi Patta)
1 tsp citric acid (nimbu ka Phool) or 1 tsp lemon juice

For The Garnish:

2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)

How To Make Gujarati Khaman Dhokla

1. Mix the besan, turmeric, lemon juice, salt and water to obtain a smooth paste.

2. Keep the mixture aside for 30 minutes.

3. After 30 minutes, add the baking powder and the baking soda, beat quickly and add to the greased pan.

4. Place the greased pan on the preheated Dhokla support and cook for 25 minutes over low heat.

5. After 25 minutes, check with a fork if the fork comes out clean, this means that your Dhokla is ready.

6. Allow Dhokla to cool, then cut into the desired shape and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

For the sugar syrup:

1. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds.

2. When the seeds are crunching, add the curry leaves and cook until lightly browned, then add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

3. Add a tablespoon of lemon juice and cook until the syrup is fine, with a consistency less than a thread.

4. Remove from the flame and allow it to cool.

Pour this quenching syrup over the dhoklas and garnished with coriander leaves.
