Today we'll learn popular Maharashtrian snack Poha. Poha or Pohe is popular in breakfast, its simply made with flattened rice, peas, potatoes and onions. It is a quick, easy and healthy recipe and anyone can make.

How-To-Make-Poha-Recipe-For-Breakfast

INGREDIENT

Serve (3-4 person)


Poha – 2 Cup or 200 gm
Onion – 2 medium (chopped)
Peas - 1 cup or 50 gm
Potato - 1 large (chopped)
Coriander - for garnish
Peanuts - 1/2 cup or 50 gm
Curry Patta - 8-10 leaves
Green Chilli - 1 chopped
Rai - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1 tsp
Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
Salt - 2 tsp (as per taste)
Oil - 2 tbsp

Preparation 


To make poha, choose medium to thick flakes.  Avoid fine scales.
Add them to a bowl or strainer or strainer.

Add 4-5 cups of water and rinse quickly. Completely drain the water.

Cover and reserve to soften.  Meanwhile, prepare the vegetables.

Press a few flakes of Poha between thumb and forefinger, they should be smooth and easy to break.  If not, sprinkle a little water and cover.

Then add sugar and salt.

Pass your fingers over the poha to spread the lumps and spread the salt.

Cover and set aside.

How to make poha

Heat a pan and add peanuts.

Fry until golden and fragrant. Remove to a plate and set aside.

Add oil to the same pan and heat it. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

When they start to pop, add tikas, onions, curry leaves, and green chilies.

Sauté until the onions turn light pink.

Optional: Add diced potatoes and sauté for a minute. Cover and simmer until tender and well cooked. If necessary, sprinkle some water and cook. When finished, leave for another minute.

Add turmeric and poha. Mix well and cover the pan.

Cook over very low heat until heated through.

Then add coriander leaves and close it.

Try this and add more salt and sprinkle with lemon juice if necessary.

Garnish the poha with roasted peanuts and coriander leaves.
